Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their busy team in processing high volume payrolls on a 15 month FTC basis. Duties include: * Preparing accurate high volume weekly and monthly payrolls within a team * Ensure all basic data including new starters, leavers and contractual changes are processed in line with payroll cut off dates * To compile, prepare and complete uploads of monthly allowances, timesheets and deductions * To establish and maintain good communications with all areas of the business and its employees ensuring service levels are maintained and an excellent service is provided at all times * To fully investigate all queries on behalf of employees and respond within service levels and react to incident resolution * To ensure effective communications with HMRC regarding tax issues and queries with student loans, tax codes and tax queries. Wherever possible promoting the HRMC website for employee use of their self-service portal * In conjunction with the Payroll Manager, to oversee the effective provision of payroll processes * To complete ad-hoc payroll and data accuracy checks and report errors to the HR Service Team * To maintain an up to date and good practical working knowledge of Payroll legislation, changes and enhancements * To keep up to date with the payroll system * To be proactive in contacting other areas of the business to improve service levels, remedy persistent reoccurring issues or problems and to eliminate payroll errors * To always put the customer first, both internal and external and offer an excellent customer service You will have: * Recent practical experience of processing payrolls up to month end using a computerised payroll package * Knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to payroll * Attention to detail and accuracy * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment * Ability to organise yourself and workload * Ability to work to deadlines * Customer service focus If you have previous payroll experience and seeking a new challenge within a growing and busy payroll then please apply now! 970116SBINDPAYS

My client is looking for a Payroll & Pensions Assistant to work within their payroll team You will be responsible for supporting the Payroll Team in processing a monthly payroll in a timely and accurate manner.As a Payroll & Pensions Assistant, your primary responsibilities include: * Oversee the outsourced pension administration to ensure the trust is compliant with our pension funds and the pension regulator. * Competence to manually calculate standard payroll calculations including sickness, maternity and/or overtime if necessary. * Retain an ongoing familiarity with employee terms and conditions and support the monthly payroll processing. * Create and post multiple payroll journals to input the liabilities and costs into the academies' accounting software. * Reconcile the accounting software payroll control accounts to the monthly payroll reports. * Assist with the collation of data and completion of the annual PSA return. * Support with HR/Payroll system queries and/or training. * Support with the maintenance and ongoing improvement of the HR/Payroll system, together with continued reviewing of current processes to ensure efficiencies. * Work alongside other members of the team to ensure that payroll related handbooks and training aids remain up to date and value adding. * Support the finance staff with any payroll related queries they may have as and when required. * Support the Head of Finance with any other task as and when may be required to ensure the smooth running of the wider team. * Build stable relationships with all key stakeholders. * Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times. You'll be assisting the Payroll team in delivering a comprehensive in-house payroll service for 3,300 employees using Access People XD (Core HR). Working in a team of 8, to ensure the payroll is prepared, run and checked in an accurate and timely manner. As a Payroll Officer, your Key Responsibilities will include: * Responsible for processing of the monthly paper timesheets and expense claims. This includes printing, collating, checking claims for authorisation/errors and data entry in to Core HR. * Processing flexi worker payments, including administration of holiday pay claims and calculations. * Working under the guidance of the Payroll Officers to help with the processing of starters, leavers, salary changes, pensions, employee loans, flexible benefits, bonuses, union fees and any other ad-hoc adjustments. * Uploading temporary data, such as bonuses and holiday payments. * Checking trial payroll runs and exception reports and highlighting any amendments. * Assisting with the preparation of monthly payroll reports. * Dealing with payroll queries by taking full responsibility for resolution and passing any critical issues on to the Payroll Officers. * Printing and sending paper payslips and P45s * Administration of the payroll mailbox and employee correspondence. * Develop good working relationships with our internal and external customers through the provision excellent customer service. * Any ad hoc duties and responsibilities as requested by the Head of Payroll Services.
