You will work on the payroll team and be the first point of contact for queries that require a greater level of payroll knowledge and understanding. Ensure that all prime records are maintained and are regularly and accurately updated to meet the requirements of Statutory Regulations, Standing Financial Instructions, Departmental Procedures and other guidelines. * Responsible for the co-ordination, supervision and harmonisation of all payment activities to ensure an efficient and accurate payroll service is provided to Client organisations, in line with Service Level Agreements, ensuring targets are met, in particular the timely and accurate production of weekly and monthly payrolls so that all employees are paid correctly and promptly. Foster a customer-focused culture within the department. * Ensure compliance with the employer's code of procedure for payment or deductions of Income Tax, National Insurance, Pensions Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity Pay, Statutory Paternity Pay, Statutory Adoption Pay Student Loans and Travel and Expenses so that Clients meet their statutory obligations. * Interpret and implement changes affecting pay quickly and correctly. Hosted by NHS England * Ensure that relevant advice is available to staff and managers as part of formal training sessions and individually. Ensure that all payrolls are balanced throughout the year and agreed to general ledgers. This is an initial 12 month fixed term contract, with potential to be made permanent. As Payroll & Benefits Manager, you will report into the Chief People Officer and will work autonomously to deliver a quality UK payroll service to employees.
