Where to start?

After gaining initial knowledge and hands on experience as a junior payroll administrator, there may be opportunities to progress into to supervisory or management roles, depending on experience.

• Junior payroll administrator
• Payroll assistant
• Senior payroll administrator
• Payroll manager

Further studies

To further the chance of promotion, employees should consider the available courses:

• Employers may sponsor younger employees to take qualifications such as BTEC Level 4 – 5
• IPP Foundation in Payroll Administrator is aimed at employees with two years or less experience
• IPP Diploma in Payroll Management for those looking to move into more senior positions
