Job duties

Payroll managers supervise the day-to-day running of the team, making sure all employees within the organisation are paid correctly and on time.

Additional responsibilities include employee training, creation of new payroll policies and procedures, managing computer software, advising on new tax legislation and liaising with other departments within the organisation.

Qualities needed

Filling payroll management vacancies

The most common route to take is by initially building up skills within a payroll department and gaining internal promotion. Once in a payroll management roll, many candidates are then able to take on new challenges within other companies.
